WAEC Releases 2024 GCE Results (1st Series) - How To Check And Result Statistics

The inaugural Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination for private applicants (WAEC GCE), 2024 First Series, has concluded, according to a communiqué from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

According to a breakdown of the performance analysis, 3,424 applicants, or 42.07% of the 8,139 candidates who took the test, received credit and above in at least five topics, with or without English language and/or mathematics. 2,519 applicants, or 30.95% of the total, received credit or better in at least five disciplines, including math and English.

The testing body also stated that due to many documented instances of exam fraud, the results of 65 candidates—or 0.80% of all candidates who took the test—are being withheld.
In contrast to the 413 candidates (4.95%) who were reported for the WASSCE for private candidates in the first series of 2023, the Council acknowledged that the CBT examination method for the WASSCE “drastically reduced examination malpractices”. Candidates whose results are being delayed or withheld in the meantime may file a complaint by going to https://waecinternational.org/complaints.

To view their results, candidates who took the test should follow the steps listed below;

  • Log on to https://www.waecdirect.org/
  • Enter Examination number
  • Select Examination year as 2024
  • Select Examination type as PRIVATE CANDIDATES
