JAMB Extends the Deadline for Direct Entry (DE) Registration by Two Weeks.

The Direct Entry (DE) registration period for 2024 will be extended by two weeks by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in order to accommodate all applicants who wish to register for DE. After careful thought, the Board decided to extend the 2024 Direct Entry by two weeks, starting on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, and ending on Thursday, April 11, 2024. As a result, registration will now end on Thursday, April 11, 2024. The Board had originally scheduled to conclude the exercise on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Due to the difficulties candidates had passing some security screening procedures put in place to stop the widespread and embarrassing instances of fraudulent A-level certificates being flaunted by some DE candidates, an extension was deemed essential. The Board promises to improve the process moving ahead and expresses regret for any hardships that may have been experienced by potential DE candidates.

But in doing so, the Board will not waver from its declared intention to make sure that candidates whose certifications were obtained in questionably are not allowed to use them. It should be reminded that candidates will not be permitted to register if their certificate-issuing institution is on the list of institutions that, in spite of repeated requests, has not checked their certificates.

In due order, the Board will convene a press conference to appropriately brief the media.
