This is the Board's official declaration that the confusion was an attempt to improve our response to new issues rather than an error. Remarkably, Khadija Abubakar Jalli's "The Life Changer" is still the text for the Use of English paper in the 2024 UTME.
As a result, candidates are required to read "The Life Changer," which is included in the syllabus and was sent to each and every applicant who signed up for the 2024 UTME. They must also follow the same instructions for every other subject that the syllabus specifies. Note that the purpose of the mock exam is primarily for candidates to become accustomed to the CBT setting and for the Board to determine the candidates' readiness for the main UTME, which 1,985,642 candidates have registered for and is scheduled to start on Friday, April 19, 2024.
For the sake of emphasis, "The Life Changer" is still the authorized reading selection for the 2024 UTME Use of English, which is required of all applicants regardless of the subjects they choose to study. Notably, in order to lessen the financial burden that the high cost of printing materials was placing on candidates, the Board distributed the reading text via a QR code that was included in each candidate's email address and profile, among other places. In order to prepare for the 2024 UTME, candidates should read the literature mentioned above.
