The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has enabled its portal for institutions to upload names of shortlisted applicants for the 2020/2021 admission. The board noted that all admission processes must follow the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) for approval to ensure transparency
This information was disclosed by the JAMB registrar, Prof Is-haq Oloyede during an interview with newsmen in Abuja.
According to him, only candidates recommended for admission by their respective institutions will be approved by the board.
He noted that most institutions, particularly private had commenced admission process in line with CAPs guidelines.
The registrar, however, added that public universities were yet to fully kick-start the process partly because they are yet to conclude the academic session including the admission processes for last year slowed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prof Oloyede was quoted “Take note also that admission is not just for universities. There are polytechnics and colleges of education and except for the closure because of COVID-19, they are not affected by the strike.
How To Check Admission Status on JAMB CAPS
•Visit: https://jamb.gov.ng/efacility and login with your registered details then proceed to your dashboard
•Click on ‘Check Admission Status'
•Click on ‘Access my CAPS’
•Click on 'Admission Status' to confirm whether or not you have been offered admission.
If you have been offered admission, you can proceed to ACCEPT OR REJECT ADMISSION but if you are yet to be offered admission a response will pop up "Sorry No Admission has been Given Yet" or "Admission in progress"
Candidates are advised to visit their JAMB CAPs dashboard regularly to know if they have been offered provisional admission.
